While we were in Ashland, Kentucky one of my Dad's friends came to see us and he brought his son Miles. They were fun and I think my
dad enjoyed catching up. The next day we traveled 32 miles to Portsmouth, Ohio. I had a good time with Mikey and Oliver!

I took this for my brother...he plays football. It is a weather vane on top of a buliding at Yale.....See the football players?

We all signed the wall in the Shubert Theatre, Ricky told us about some of the history of this place. It has been the preview theatre for some big Broadway hits, now our names are right there with some of the biggest names in theatre.

Next weekend we close. I am looking forward to seeing all of my friends and family at home but I'm not looking forward to telling my Annie family good-bye......

Manhattan..........Kansas, Philadelphia and the University of Virginia

We were on the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan. This is the Theatre advertising the shows for this season. Recognize anyone up there?

Our company manager, Jack. got all the orphans "Ugly Dolls" we were playing with them in the Manhattan airport. He is so nice to us.

THEN IT WAS OFF TO PHILADELPHIA

Ivy, her Mom, my Dad and I went exploring, here I am with the Liberty Bell and Ivy and I are in the room where the Declaration of Independence was signed! Pretty Cool.

One night we set up a Wii "Just Dance" party in the lobby, even the adults got into it.....or at least they tried!

We had a kids against my Dad snowball fight........he lost!

How many fingers am I holding up? Yep 3, because here in Philadelphia, on Sunday afternoon, a bunch of us celebrated our 300th tour performance of Annie!

At the University of Virginia my Dad got to sit in with the orchestra during sound check. He really liked getting to play while we were checking!

Modesto and a wonderful Golden Day in San Francisco!!!!

In Modesto we played in a really neat theatre my dressing room was very nice.

Thought you might like to see some of the guys in the orchestra.

We have Adam, the brass section and Jeffrey at sound check.

We were treated to a reception after our opening show. It was very nice, these shots are from that night.

We met some students who had won an essay contest about the importance of the arts.

Getting started on a Golden Day (No show or travel) in The City By the Bay!
Since we were in San Francisco we had to ride a cable car. We got on where they turn the car around then hold on for a fun ride.

We ran into Cy during the day....here is some of the crazyness we got into.

Some of the orphans finished off the night with a crepe on Pier 39....yummy!!

Good-bye San Francisco I'll see you again though, I'm sure!

Visiting Montana

Here are some scenes from beautiful Montana. We played shows in Missoula and Great Falls.

Ivy and I took some shots by the bears that were in our hotel lobby in Great Falls....don't we look scared.

We were in Missoula for Mardi Gras and we staged the Krewe of Annie parade on the way to the theatre. My Dad played the trumpet as we 2nd lined through the street.

Next we're headed to California.......again.

We just finished a week in Washington and was it fun! We were in Yakima for a few days then on to Seattle. My Mom came in to visit this weekend, my cousin Bonnie came up from Portland to see the show and we got a visit from our director Martin, this all added to a great time.

I have to say I think that this is the best name for a hotel that we have ever stayed in.

Seattle had so much to see that we couldn't fit everything in but one of my favorite sights was the fish market where they throw the fish. When we asked if Ivy and I could take a picture with the fish catcher......he tossed me a fish!......................................YUCK!!

We did secret Valentine's during the week, ending up with a party where we tried to guess who had who. I tried to fool Jillian but she guessed that I had her; Kai had me and she showered me with really cool gifts all week.

I get to meet so many people at the stage door after our performances, but this week Ethan really stood out. He had some very good questions and really knew a lot about the theatre.

I just wanted to close out this post by wishing everyone a Happy Mardi Gras! I hope y'all catch a bunch of beads at the parades!!!

Riverside and the Restored Fox Theatre

Thanks to the people of the Fox Theatre in Riverside. What an experience and an honor to be part of the first of their "Broadway" series. The theatre is beautiful and the reception that y'all gave us was incredible!! I am a big fan of the cupcakes. Here are some of the party pictures Thanks again for a wonderful time.

We also made a chaperone change here, Maw Maw headed back home and Dad is with me. Now I have to show him the ropes. Off to Yakima!

We have been performing for big crowds here in Logan......It helps to have a warm welcome in such cool tempertures! Our view from our hotel was so pretty. After a long travel day from Chicago to Salt Lake City and a bus ride to Logan, the orphans were able to have a little FUN....@ the FUN HOUSE....skating, laser tag, and pizza!
Before heading to the warm weather in California....a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do..... build a snowman! No SWIMMING though!

After a week long stay here in Chicago, I have to say......I will remember this city for a long time. The cast and crew was so lucky this week cause we had alot of family who visited. It means so much when we perform for hometown people but it also feels good when our family is in the audience. The Roosevelt Auditorium was so beautiful, we received great reviews, and had the opportunity to perform for other tours (see picture of Traci, Will (From Billy Elliot), Zander, and me) and we also attended a performance from the tour of Dreamgirls (pictures to come).

Today we had the chance to perform for a retirement home here in Chicago. I always enjoy performing for big crowds but these opportunities are very rewarding too. Ivy, Roni, MacKenzie, Jordan, and I along with EM, Katie, Cy, and Ricky performed a couple of our favorite songs mixed into our ANNIE hits too. Thanks for being such a great audience!!!

This week was one to remember! We performed for huge crowds....one of which reached close to 4000 in attendance! Thanks to Debbie, Shirley, Liz, Renae, Nick, Mom, and Dad for coming to see me this weekend. I am so happy to have family support!!!
This week we had 24 additional walk-on orphans perform with us each show. They were friendly, fun and quite talented! Hope you guys had a great time and we enjoyed spending time with you. Oh....to wrap up a wonderful week, my mawmaw cooked GUMBO for the cast and crew and my parents brought King cakes and prizes to kick off the carnival season! Happy Mardi Gras from ANNIE!

I was very lucky to be interviewed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution so I just wanted to share it with you guys. The theatre here is beautiful and we are having so much fun performing for such great crowds. This week alone we have 9 shows.......needless to say.....we are working it out! Some of the most rewarding perks of being on the ANNIE National Tour is being able to participate in press events. On Wednesday, I had a long day but it was so much fun!!!! I started my day off at the Gammage Theatre in my dressing room where I did a live interview with the local FOX TV station (KSAZ). This guy was a character!!!! From there... I traveled to Scottsdale to participate in a luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa. WOW.....My mom and I met so many wonderful parents and girls who had an interest in theatre. We answered questions from them about our experience regarding musical theatre. They also came to the show on New Year's Day!! From there.....we met Kai, my hairdresser, to have my hair "freshened up"! My mom and I shopped a little on the Mill Street strip and before we knew it, it was showtime!

Once upon 4 cities ago....My blog was clogged!!! There was nothing "normal" about Normal, IL......from our hotel to the furniture in it! We enjoyed the stay there though! Being a good Catholic girl, I confessed my sins (in a confessional in the lobby) so that Santa would visit me! OH!!!!! We also had school in the pool there! Normal right??? The theatre in Wausau was beautiful! The tutor on tour, Ms. Natalie, displayed our projects (backstage) that we completed from our field trip.....we wrote papers and created our own museums! Did I mention......It's cold up here!!!!! We stopped in Milwaukee for two days.....which made our stay a little more relaxing. Our view from our room was so pretty. As soon as we arrived, I had a phone interview with Broadwayworld.com ....I will post the link when it's published! Ms. Natalie organized a going away party for Sydney (Molly)....she was with us for the first leg of the tour but will be returning home. She was great as "Molly" but I am so sad to see her leave. I will miss her but hopefully we will work together again soon! The last picture on this segment is me being silly....I have to sit with color in my hair for 30 minutes every couple of days!!!!!! It hurts to be beautiful! LOL! After a tough bus ride in the snow, we arrived at our final destination before the layoff....Mason City, IA! The audience was absolutely terrific!!! I'm glad cause it was Sydney's last performance...Jack (our company manager) gave her a bouquet of roses at curtain call....he's so nice. We won't see Marvin or the bus until Casper, WY so be safe Marvin!!! Until I return from Layoff....Merry Christmas to all ANNIE fans and my family too!

Sold Out in Cape Girardeau, MO

I wake up each morning and check out our "City Sheet" which tells us where we are headed to perform next. It's weird that we zig zag from state to state and city to city and sometimes pass a town that we were just in......but we had not been to Missouri yet! We pulled up at our hotel which was a lodge and the staff was extremely pleasant. They helped with the luggage and gave us free snacks and appetizers. There was a popcorn machine in the lobby, as well as, free sodas! A fireplace and big sofas made our stay complete. My mom and I had a few hours of together time....we ate and had coffee at STARBUCKS....the first one since we left New Orleans! The theatre was circular in shape but we used our full set for the show. The audience laughed at the jokes and applauded constantly. We had so much fun! The theatre gave us a cake for performing there.....it was a picture of Sandy (Mikey) and Me!

The entire cast, with the help of our orchastra, sang Happy Birthday at the company meeting this evening to Jack. The Orphans gave him a singing BD card and a festive Christmas tie! No party would be complete without a toilet paper rolled bus seat. Hope he had a great birthday!

ANNIE in an Arena???

Yes, it happened in Champaign, Illinois at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall!!
We had to go under ground to get there......It felt strange cause we always perform in Theatre's but hey...change is good! It was an ANNIE concert!!!! After the show, the cast went to Old Chicago to eat....Thanks ADULTS for putting up with us kids! No Broadway tunes on the juke box this evening, just good times with my extended family! I wanted to blog about one of our new cast members, Cy, He is so much fun!!! He always gives us orphans trouble...HA! Seriously...I think he's great! I'm so happy he joined our ANNIE family!

Fun in Flint!

We had two shows in Flint and both were sold out crowds.....3800 people came to see ANNIE on Sunday, December 13th! When we arrived, as luck would have it, our hotel was directly across from a farmers market filled with fresh fruits and veggies, deli's, crafts, and jewelry. We ate lunch there and a few of the orphans had dessert! I had pumpkin pie ice cream!! My dad always ask me if i have any Baklava.....I really had no idea what he was talking about but they sold it at the market!!! Our shows were scheduled for Sunday but we arrived on Saturday so our company manager scheduled a movie night for the entire company. Ivy, Roni, Jordan and I......Mr. Jerry (Jordan's Dad), Marvin (Our bus driver) and my mom all went to see "Princess and the Frog"! The setting is in New Orleans which was so exciting and familiar.....it made me miss home alttle.......I would definitely recommend it! The audiences in Flint were great!!!!! In between shows the company was treated to a delicious catered lunch. After our second show, the orphans were asked to sign a fans Channel Purse (Thanks~ Shy Shy).....we are still talking about that!

Although Sandy (Mikey) gets treats for doing a great job on stage, us "humans" deserve a little treat every once in a while too! Traveling from city to city can make you tired but having a few free time activities is all a girl needs to survive. Weather its lunch stops at the mall, shopping for clothes (which we have no room for), playing in playlands for 3 year olds, homemade smoothies, claw machines, video games, or Broadway tunes pumping though the speakers at Buffalo Wild wings.....us kids are grateful for TREATS!

Well my mom got the full dinner and a show experience! The lobby smelled so good......that's because the theatre offered a turkey dinner buffet prior to the show and a few parents took advantage of a real meal!! Also in the lobby was a sled filled with 7 orphans and a beautiful child wrangler looking to have some fun. The audience laughed and cheered and by the standing ovation as soon as the curtain call started would give me the clue that they loved "Annie". Some of the theatre's have the casts and crew sign their walls............this time the parents could sign too! Now my mom is famous!

Santa and his sleigh, singing from the infamous orphans in warm ups, and 1400 seats can only lead to one thing......Sold Out House in Van Wert, OH!!

This town had some of the nicest people and the theatre that we played in was called the Niswonger PAC of NW Ohio......built on private donations alone! The theatre was so full of Christmas spirit! Every seat was sold. The lobby was decorated with beautiful Christmas trees and Santa was there listening to all of the kids wishlists! Looks like my mom joined in on the fun!

We were so lucky to stay in a golf resort and spa in Morgantown with a restaurant overlooking the golf course! The show went well.....we are beginning to gel on stage and the audiences have been so appreciative! The tough part right now is the long travels between some of these one nighters but I would not trade this experience for the world!! Our favorite past time for the long trips....DS games...the competition is fierce between the orphans and some of the adult cast members!!!

After a long day of traveling on our tour bus, the orphan's gathered for pool games! Our stage manager, Sydney, showed up for the Races and Marco Polo! We had a great time after a long day. After getting to sleep late this morning, we went on our 1st field trip to James "Jimmy" Stewart Museum in Indiana, PA. We watched a movie and toured the museum....wow.....this guy was the beast. James “Jimmy” Stewart was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on May 20, 1908. He is well known for his famous punch line “Aw Shucks!” and the many movies he has been in. Some of those movies are; "It's a Wonderful Life", “Harvey”, “You can’t take it with you”, “Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation ”, and “The Naked Spur”. He married a women named Gloria Stewart and had two kids.

After the museum, we ate at a small locally owned sandwich shop (with a LSU pendent) before heading back to the hotel to get ready for the SHOW!!!!

I am so excited as we pulled in Springfield and the Theatre has a huge banner with David and my picture on it advertising our show!!! I love when the theatre takes the extra step to advertise the show....it gives us an extra boost! Mom and I wondered around the town for a few minutes and found a Christmas manger.....it was beautiful! Siera (Tessie) from the Annie 2008-2009 National tour, handmade every orphan an "ugly doll" personalized with our character name. Thanks Siera and Ms. Marie!!!!

On Thursday, we had our first Golden day on tour which is like a reward for me! Jordan (July), Emily (Tessie), Ivy (Pepper), Sydney (Molly), and myself was so excited to hear that our parents rented a car and bought us- Row B center orchestra seats to see RAGTIME on Broadway..........We went to Rockerfeller Center to see the huge Christmas Tree and dropped in on Dustin (from last tour's cast) before going to the show. Mackie (Molly) and her mom came with us since they are temporarily living in New York. Hailey (Sydney's sister) and her mom came too! We meet so many cast members at the stage door. The show was amazing! To end a perfect day, we had STARBIZZLES (Starbucks) for the ride home!!

Sold Out House again! We are so blessed!

We are playing tonight at the State Theatre in Easton, PA to a sold out house! It's a smaller theatre but very pretty! MacKenzie came to see us before she joins us on tour in Tempe, AZ after Christmas. Tomorrow we have a GOLDEN day and a few of the orphans, moms/dad, and Mackie, of course, will travel to New York City to see "Ragtime" on Broadway. It's a great reward for all of our hard work these past two weeks!

Christmas Season for "ANNIE" kicks off in Dayton!

Tonight I was honored to sing "Tomorrow" at the Dayton Christmas Spectacular that was held downtown next to the Schuster Center where "Annie" will be playing. The crowds were huge and the entire production was first class! There was so much Christmas spirit in this one block including a mini fair with rides, a tree lighting event, and a children's Christmas parade. Thank you so much for allowing me to sing tonight!

I was so happy to be able to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade but I did miss my family at home. Hope your Fried Turkey came out good! We celebrated ANNIE style at a great restaurant and with great friends. Thanks to Jack and Mr. Kary at Networks for arranging such a good meal and fun time! Back to work tomorrow cause we have only a day to be prepared for previews! So to all the ANNIE fans out there.....Get your tickets cause we are ready to rock!

Mikey and I could not sleep late today because it was time to get my hair "DID"! HA!
The Annie hairdressers and my mom took me to have my hair cut and colored for the opening of our tour. Just so happens that the salon was on Madison Street! After a long day of dress rehearsals, we were so lucky to have Chris from the orchestra from last tour waiting to see us!

Today was Martin Charnin's Birthday! The orphans prepared a special birthday song to the tune of Hard Knock Life....He loved it!
Tech week continues but leave it to David Zack to challenge us in a DS battle.....we will miss him when he leaves. Speaking of leaving...I was sad to see Bill leave today but hopefully we'll see him on the road soon. For all those "Sandy" lovers out there, check out the Ladies Home Journal for a great article about Mikey (aka Sandy) in the 2009 December issue!!

The entire cast is now here in Dayton so we are just waiting on the rest of the orchestra and a few crew members and we will be a complete company once again!
Last night was a fun reunion for returning Annie peeps and a great opportunity to meet the new "peeps" too!

Our Company Manager Jack took the orphans and parents to the "Red Robin Restaurant" for a great dinner....Thanks Jack! Tonight was my first sleepover with Mikey on this tour. He fell asleep while watching "The Cat in the Hat"!

WOW....It's a Hard Knock Life for Us but we loved every minute.
Today was the orphans "official" first day of rehearsals for the 2009-2010 Annie National Tour. Lots of singing, blocking, and dancing which felt great!

After a day long of traveling, we are here in Dayton, Ohio and I was so happy to see the returning cast and crew & meet the new ones! The rest of the cast will be here on Sunday night and we will be one big happy family. I am so excited about getting back on stage for rehearsals for the next week or so. We have a jammed packed schedule but I will love every minute. Just want to say to my dad and brother....mom and I miss you guys already and clean the house! HA!
I wanted to Thank Martin and Networks for giving me this opportunity again and I am honored to be your ANNIE!

Today I picked up my books from school and when I got home I was so surprised...... one of my former teachers, Ms. Erwin, left about 50+ books for me to read on the road, beautiful ink pens, and some of the most unique jewelry from Egypt! She also left me Egyptian money! Thanks Ms. Erwin! You are the greatest fan, not to mention, a cool teacher!

I am so excited to travel on tour again as ANNIE with the best cast and crew~ We begin Rehearsals in Dayton, Ohio on November 20th and I am eager to meet the new cast members and get to know them. I can't wait to see my old friends, too! The days are going by so fast and I can't believe that were only about four days away. I know that this tour will be just as much fun as the last.
